TradingView to FTMO: Platforms, Webhooks and Rules

FTMO is a real MT5 and cTrader intersection for AlgoWay. The same firm also offers TradingView natively, but that is a separate execution model; its old DXtrade endpoint is not a working AlgoWay route.

MT5 and cTrader: current platform overlap. DXtrade: excluded.

FTMO currently lists MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView. AlgoWay has an MT5 execution connector and a cTrader integration. AlgoWay's DXtrade connector must not be presented as FTMO-compatible: FTMO discontinued DXtrade as a new option in March 2026 and its DXtrade API is not a usable AlgoWay execution path.

The real AlgoWay and FTMO overlap

An FTMO account must be tied to the actual trading platform selected at checkout. MT5 accounts can be evaluated for the MetaTrader 5 AlgoWay route; cTrader accounts can be evaluated for the supported AlgoWay cTrader integration. Neither connection is interchangeable with a DXtrade username or a native TradingView login.

FTMO explicitly allows legitimate algorithmic strategies and Expert Advisors, provided trading is consistent with real-market conditions, strategy uniqueness and its forbidden practices. It also warns about excessive API messages and shared third-party EA strategies.

FTMO's own TradingView offering uses an OANDA Broker Profile for native TradingView account trading. This is not equivalent to the TradingView-alert-to-AlgoWay-to-MT5/cTrader workflow. A customer must select one execution route and confirm the credentials for that exact platform.

DXtrade is not a path to promote. FTMO stopped offering it for new account purchases on 24 March 2026. Existing DXtrade accounts temporarily remained available during migration, but the DXtrade REST API route is not operational for AlgoWay. One old DXtrade endpoint found in AlgoWay data should be treated strictly as historical evidence.

Account-level checklist

1. Identify your platform

Confirm whether your FTMO account is MT5 or cTrader and obtain its platform-specific login details.

2. Review firm permissions

Check FTMO's current EA and trading practices for that account type.

3. Configure the exact route

Test a permitted destination route and ensure symbol names, lots and risk orders map correctly.

4. Validate the account

Do not attempt DXtrade or confuse the native FTMO TradingView integration with an AlgoWay webhook route.

Common questions

Does FTMO support automated trading?

FTMO states that legitimate algorithmic trading and Expert Advisors are allowed subject to its forbidden trading practices and server limits.

Can AlgoWay execute FTMO orders on DXtrade?

No viable AlgoWay DXtrade route should be advertised for FTMO. DXtrade was withdrawn for new accounts in March 2026 and the API integration is not functioning.

Is FTMO native TradingView the same as TradingView alerts to AlgoWay?

No. FTMO's native TradingView path is a separate platform integration; AlgoWay uses webhook signal routing to an authorized supported execution account.
